TOUR DETAILS…… taking in the entire length of the wall 8.1 klm ( the longest earth filled wall in the Southern Hemisphere )  offering spectacular views across the water then visiting a wetland area of significant value noted for it’s vast amount of birds and animals….We then cross back over the wall and take our 4×4 up to the top of Misery Hill , this extremely good lookout offers views out over the entire Ross Dam area  and way beyond . So if it’s Australian wildlife you want to see then this little tour is for you.

More about the Cruise

Ross River Dam is listed as a wetland of significance.  It holds some 232,000 megalitres of water and has approximately 221 known species of birds. Around Lake Ross we see white-belied sea eagles, wedge-tailed eagles, black swans, peregrine falcons, red-tailed black cockatoos, azure kingfishers and blue-winged kookaburras, to name a few. That makes it one of Australia’s best bird habitats.  The lake is also home to hundreds of kangaroos and other wildlife that freely roam around its edge. The area around Ross Dam has a rich pioneering history, dating back to the days of Cobb & Co.
